Joint walk with the London Hiking Dykes
11th June 2017 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Joint walk with the London Hiking Dykes…..
The walk starts from Sandy station in Bedfordshire. It’s a more or less a circular walk of approx 13.5miles along the rivers Ivel and Ouse. Parts of it are a bit overgrown with stinging nettles*. Not impassable, but best to not wear shorts! The banks are usually cut the in June so it may be OK. There is a riverside pub to stop at part way round, but bring packed lunch. Well behaved dogs welcome.
I’ll be meeting the London train that arrives at Sandy at 11.07. Parking at Sandy station costs £2.50, but there is plenty of free parking on nearby street. Contact Chris A for further details.
* The other vegetation of note and worth seeing if you never have before is a very impressive stand of giant Hogweed. Giant hogweed/RHS Gardening
