DECEMBER 2007

Wednesdays

6.30pm

SisterAct Sports - 6.30 - 7.30pm at the old Sports Hall, Chesterton Sports Centre, Gilbert Road (in the grounds of Chesterton College).  All abilities welcome.  Indoor football, basketball, indoor hockey and other sports attempted on request.  Have fun, get some exercise, catch up on the gossip in the Fleur de Lys pub afterwards.  £3 for members/£4 for non-members.  Last Sports of the term is the 12th Dec and will resume on 16th Jan if there is enough interest.

 

Sunday 9th

Ice Skating – Parkers Piece Cambridge On Ice.  Tickets can be purchased through the Cambridge Corn Exchange website.  Cost £8.50 plus £1.50 booking fee.  May be able to book on the day. 

Wednesday 12th

Book Club - This month will be ghostly readings.  Please contact us for further details and for directions.  New readers are always welcome.

SisterAct Christmas Disco – Cambridge City Football Club, Milton Road,Cambridge CB4 1UY. 8pm-till late. £5 non members, £4 members.

Walk – A walk somewhere near Wimpole, ending at a pub to be decided, further details will be e-mailed nearer the day.

Wed 6th Feb – Part of LGBT History month - At Lucy Cavendish College: Talk by Prof Susan Golombok whose work was instrumental in changing the standard practice of awarding custody of children away from their lesbian mothers.  Her current projects include a longitudinal study of surrogacy, donor insemination and egg donation families; a comparison between donor insemination families where parents have disclosed the donor conception to the child and families where they have not; and a study of young adults who have been raised in lesbian mother families from birth. She has been involved in policy issues as a member of the government Surrogacy Review Committee and has advised the Department of Health on issues regarding assisted reproduction and lesbian mother families.

 

Wed 27th Feb –  7.30-9.30pm - Part of LGBT History month – Workshop on Jeanette Winterson & Sarah Waters at the Meadows Centre on Kings Hedges Road.  This is in place of the monthly Book Club
